Cottage Road Cinema is the oldest and only independent cinema in Leeds, and one of the oldest cinemas in the UK, continuously showing films since 1912. Originally known as The Headingley Picture House, it was not purpose built. It was instead an adaptation of a building dating back to 1905, when it began life as motor garage and motorcycle assembly shop.

The cinema is within walking distance from Leeds Beckett University's Headingley campus. Buses from Leeds city centre stop on Otley Road including the 1, 6, 28, 97 lines. There is on-street parking limited to four hours on Cottage Road, and unrestricted parking on Moor Road at the top end.
