This unique cinema pledges 100 per cent of its profits to support South Africa-based charity The Sustainability Institute, which funds educational, nutritional and ecological projects in rural Stellenbosch. It’s also a community hub, partnering with local social initiatives to offer film-based community projects, and has been designated one of the top 100 social enterprises in the UK.
It’s small but perfectly formed (screen two seats just 24, with screen one accommodating 76) and has a fully licensed bar. Along with membership deals, audio-described performances and selected £5 tickets, it offers a Monday night ‘film school’ with screenings of diverse movies, introduced by filmmakers, academics, critics and experts, all with notes to take away.
