Originally the town market hall, this historic building has been operating as a cinema since 1911, and its lovingly restored art-deco foyer leads into a plush, red-velvet 200-seater auditorium. Prices are kept deliberately low (the cinema is run by a community group as a registered charity), meaning that a family of four can enjoy its new-release blockbusters and all-ages screenings for only £14. Even the concessions stand is reasonably priced, with popcorn starting from just £1.
