Still revelling in the glory of a £15.2 million Arts Council-funded refurb just over a decade ago, Midlands Arts Centre (affectionately known as Mac) is Birmingham’s go-to venue for contemporary arts. Its revamped cinema is one of only a handful of independents in the city. As well as the main 160-seat screen, which has well-spaced tiered seats and a 4K Sony projection kit, films are also shown in the centre’s 250-seat main theatre. Enjoy seasonal food at Kiln Café or pick up refreshments at the mini café and bar just outside the cinema itself. You’ll find Mac in glorious Cannon Hill Park, two miles south of the city centre.
