Housed in the factory where Alfred Bird once made his famous custard powder back in the 1800s, the Mockingbird focuses on independent releases, classic movies, documentaries and world cinema. There are two screens – the main 100-seat venue, which has comfortable raked seating, plus a new 40-seater that is due to open in autumn 2021. Look out for an array of activities from film-themed quizzes and brunches to singalongs and 24-hour horror marathons.
