This venue – orignally Hackney Central Library – has five screens and plenty of choice between arthouse, new releases, crowd-pleasers and classic cinema. Screen one offers a huge screen, excellent sound quality and a steep rake ensuring every seat has the perfect view, and screen five (known as the Lounge) has a scattering of low sofas, floor cushions and small tables for a relaxed vibe. There’s also a top floor, called the Hackney Attic, which hosts live events, quizzes and open-mic nights. The bar and kitchen serves burgers, salads, and large bowls of chips, accompanied by wine, spirits and (what else) East London microbrewed ales.
