The history of The Plough dates back to the 1500s, when a wealthy merchant’s residence occupied the site. Years as a raucous inn and a military drill hall followed, before this elegant building became the cultural heart of Great Torrington. Offering a rich variety of film alongside exhibitions, workshops and live events, The Plough’s multipurpose theatre has 132 fixed-rake seats plus a Sony digital 4K projector and Dolby 7.1 surround sound. Fabulous coffee and cake at The Plough Café complete the picture.
