The crown jewel in the Redrock leisure development in the heart of Stockport, The Light opened with great fanfare – including a squadron of Stormtroopers – in 2017. Since then, it’s been offering a similarly starry movie-going experience, with reclining chairs, Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound and a wide selection of films across its 12 screens, from Escher documentaries to Marvel blockbusters. Then there’s the food. Going beyond the usual cinema grub, Fratellis is a proper Italian eatery, serving pizzas and burgers to go with craft ale and fine wines from the bar. The Light also offers private events space in its recently unveiled Rowena Room.
