Follows Annie Braddock (Scarlett Johansson), a young woman from a working-class neighborhood in New Jersey, as she struggles to find her feet. Fresh out of college, through a serendipitous meeting, Annie ends up in the elite culture of New York's Upper East Side—remote from Annie's suburban New Jersey. But she bolts from that life... and decides to accept a position as a nanny for a wealthy family.
Annie quickly learns that life is not very rosy on the other side of the tax bracket, as she cater to the every whim of the rich family and their brat of a son. But—as luck would have it—she falls for their neighbour, a "Harvard hottie".
