Edgar Wright’s time-skipping horror Last Night In Soho arrives in cinemas next month

Edgar Wright has made a name for himself by mashing and smashing up movie genres to make totally original and fresh new features: zom-rom-com Shaun of The Dead and Baby Driver‘s blend of musical, heist, and car-chase-comedy come to mind.

That’s what makes the below trailer for Last Night In Soho so extra delectable. Even though the giallo, period and horror influences are all obviously there, we’ve got no bloody clue how it all comes together.

You’ll have to check out the film to find out; it arrives in UK cinemas on October 29.

Starring Thomas McKenzie as a lonely young fashion student, Wright’s latest film seems to skip between the present day and London in the Swinging Sixties, with a glamorous chanteuse played by Anya Taylor-Joy consuming McKenzie’s attention.

Terence Stamp and Diana Rigg are among the supporting cast who were actually around in the glam ’60s, but it seems Wright has a more sinister vision of the era in mind. As the trailer continues, we get some Argento-esque blood-red lighting and hints of supernatural terror.
