Empire Cinema Birmingham is something of a blockbuster in its own right, with 13 screens – ranging from nearly 150 to 400 seats – including an IMAX. It’s a great favourite with locals, and shows all the latest releases, with a particular emphasis on kids’ films during the school holidays. There’s also a well-publicised live cinema programme, including projections of music, theatre, ballet and opera productions from the likes of the National Theatre and Northern Ballet, as well as rock concerts. All screens have wheelchair access with adjacent seats for friends and family, and are fitted with a hearing loop, compatible with most hearing aids. Other facilities available within the Great Park Leisure Park include branches of Frankie & Benny’s, Brewers Fayre and Hollywood Bowl.
