In a joint venture with the local council, this cinema shares its space with a library, cafe and community centre. It offers the mix of blockbusters, arthouse and classic films plus theatre, opera and ballet, and the curated seasons of films with which the Picturehouse chain has made its name. The interior (in what is now screen one) also featured in Kubric’s iconic A Clockwork Orange, as the location for Alex’s gruelling ‘cure’ scene. Viddy well, little brothers.
