About Saffron Screen
Contact & About
Run out of a high school in Saffron Walden, Essex, this community-driven cinema shows films from Friday night through to Monday night, with weekend matinees and more screenings during school holidays. Open since 2006, Saffron Screen benefits from 100 volunteers working with 19 part-time staff members. It’s well equipped with digital and 35mm projectors for its single screen, meaning live satellite events can be streamed as well the latest blockbusters and old favourites. Babies and children are welcome, and Saffron Screen hosts ‘relaxed’ screenings, as well as autism-friendly and dementia-friendly showings. It also punches above its weight with frequent Q&A sessions and panel discussions. Parking is available on site, and there’s also a bar.
