The We and the I

Coming-of-age comedy/drama from director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), following a bunch of Bronx teens and their last bus ride home after finishing high school.

The two central figures are the swaggering and handsome ruler of the posse at the back of the bus Michael (Michael Brodie) and Teresa (Teresa Lynn), the depressive girl who hangs with them despite being frequently subjected to their ridicule. Their stories and those of the other high-schoolers play out in the claustrophobic microcosm of a long bus ride home.

The low-budget project was developed by Gondry through a workshop process with non-professional actors from a Bronx-based community program that provides exposure to the arts.
