The Woman in the Fifth

British-French thriller about an American writer (Ethan Hawke) who escapes to Paris to reorganise his life. There he lusts after a widow (Kristin Scott Thomas) who has deadly intentions to keep him forever.

After a scandal costs him his college lecturing job, Tom temporarily leaves his daughter and estranged wife, hoping to one day win back their love and forgiveness. When that plan threatens to fall through, he grows a desire for a beautiful French woman, Margit. As the lovers’ passion deepens, an inexplicable chain of events begin to occur. When the life of Tom’s daughter is threatened, he begins to suspect Margit as the catalyst of the chaos.
