How to stream Line of Duty in the UK

Line of Duty is now streaming in the UK on BBC iPlayer, Sky Go, and Acorn.

What is Line of Duty about?

Created by gritty drama veteran Jed Mercurio and first airing in 2012, Line of Duty follows the exploits of the elite Anti-Corruption Unit 12 (AC-12), who investigate crimes by police personnel. Our protagonist is Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott (Martin Compston), who is shunted into the squad after refusing to participate in the cover-up of a police shooting and partnered up with Detective Constable Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure).

From this premise we get six seasons of gritty procedural thrills as the pair and the rest of the team, under the command of Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), investigate all many of police malfeasance and conspiracy.

The cast of Line of Duty

There have been a lot of cast shake-ups over the course of the show’s six seasons, but expect to see Lenny James, Thandiwe Newton, Gina McKee, Craig Parkinson, Paul Higgins, Neil Morrissey, Kelly MacDonald, Keeley Hawes, Tony Pitts, Polly Walker, Aiysha Hart, Stephen Graham, James Nesbitt, and more to crop at one point or another.

What are the critics saying about Line of Duty?

We’re talking almost universal acclaim here. The first four seasons are all rated one hundred percent on Rotten Tomatoes, with the following two both Certified Fresh. The series was been lavished with praise for its writing, acting, and general downbeat tone, although it does seem many felt the sixth season was stretching things a bit. Still, given there are rumblings of continuing the series in some form or another, there’s still a chance to go out on a high note.
