Take your best mates/victims to see Jackass Forever, now in cinemas

Here at Flicks, we appreciate the fine art of documentary storytelling. Frederick Wiseman‘s unerring social compass; Kirsten Johnson‘s introspective warmth; Johnny Knoxville’s obsession with destroying his friends’ nutsacks…

Older but absolutely not wiser, the incorrigible Jackass crew has returned for Jackass Forever, now screening in cinemas across the United Kingdom.

It’s basically more of what we loved in the first three Jackass films but with an added layer of poignancy since the passing of Ryan Dunn—and since all these guys are sobered-up middle-aged fathers and husbands now.

The film’s raucous final trailer puts the guys’ camaraderie front and centre, even between the nut shots, bull gorings, and exploded port-a-potties. “If you’re gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough”, an indie song warns over the near-unwatchable footage. The entire crew of Jackass Forever are proudly dumb and tough, it seems.

Your fave ‘half-assed stuntmen’ have returned: ringleader Knoxville, ever-smiling Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Danger Ehren, Wee Man, Dave England, and Preston Lacy. Bam Margera is absent after some years of dissent between the skateboarder and his former band of brothers.

But this fourth film is also greatly improved by the new guard of pranksters, even beyond celeb guests Eric André, Machine Gun Kelly, and Tyler The Creator.

Zach Holmes is probably the bravest new kid, allowing himself to be rode upon down a mammoth water slide in the middle of a rocky desert, and leaping onto a patch of cacti. Thank you for your bold sacrifice and welcome to the team.
